You can switch to Halifax current account without needing any direct debits it won't pay you interest but it will pay you a switching bonus maybe that is what you meant

    Answering your question:
Nationwide FlexDirect: 5% for 1 year, then 1% thereafter on funds up to £2500. Must pay in at least £1000 per month.

TSB classic plus: 5% on balances up to £1500, must pay in minimum of £500 per month (and if you’re not phased by recent TSB issues).

Starling Bank: 0.5% on balances up to £2000 then 0.25% on balances between £2000 and £85000.

Don’t rule out switching offers as an alternative to interest.

The Nationwide FlexDirect pays 5% for the first 12 months of up to £2500 and the TSB Classic Plus account (currently only openable in branch) pays 5% on up to £1500. They'd be the first ones to go for if you don't want to faff around with DDs, etc

If you could find 2 x DDs you could switch to Nationwide and get £100 for doing so- as well as the interest quoted above. See referrer's board. As soon as switch complete you can axe the DDs.
