I didn’t realise it was so long until the non essential retail shops opened. The first thing we had planned was to get my great niece’s feet measured properly in Clarks. She’s 18 months which is crucial but I’m also thinking of all the children who went back to school this week. I hope there are none of those ridiculous exclusions for uniform infractions that we used to have to put up with when my children were at school.I’m really pleased to see how many of my herbs and strawberry plants overwintered successfully. I had a poke at my compost pile I had dreams of producing masses of the stuff but it’s compacted it down to several inches in the bottom of the bin. I’m sure it’s black gold and I’m going to use some this morning to liven up my lavender plants in the front. It’s still quite blustery here - it was rough in the night. The winds weren’t particularly strong but they must’ve been coming from the south-west because it’s taken out all the wheelie bins down the alley 😂Silly Rodney Cat has ripped his back claws again - it’s only 6 months or so since the last time he did this. His paw is really swollen and he’s not putting any weight on it. Both my cats think the floor is lava in the sitting room which is really annoying because you can’t have any nice runners or knickknacks on the tables or sides. He has limped off upstairs after knocking everything down on my coffee table, probably to bask in this lovely sunshine. He never miaows but I’ve heard him squeak and cry a couple of times 🙁
i’ve just had to report a scam call to BT – claiming to be their technical department investigating my speed. Would I download an app and give them control of my router? 😂😂😂 thankfully I guessed it was a scam call before I answered because it was an International number. The name of the app was Anydesk GmbH. It would’ve been easy to fall for this because I have ongoing problems with my broadband dropping out- I can’t even get catch up TV at the moment . I’m on my sixth hub and I still get better reception when I hop on my neighbour’s - he’s BT too though 🤷♀️😂😂
today might be the day I actually get to go to one of the garden centres. I want to make my porch look tidy and that includes my hanging basket. This year I’d like to put up a trellis with some morning glories. I might get daring and throw one of those flower bombs on the front lawn 😂
Now that I put it out there, I have to go and start cleaning my porch

I feel the lavender could do with some sort of pep. I don’t usually grow in pots11 -
Clarks do an old school foot measure that you can buy online from their online shop to measure yourself at home, not ideal but something. I use to use it with firstborn and it wasn't to far off what the shop measured, tbh I'm not even sure I trust the shop measuring when we went to get DS school shoes in Sept he was measured and we bought them came home wore them for a couple of hours and left really bad marks, called the store and they said they are to small and to return them. We ended up going to an independent store and bought startrite. I would recommend startrite.
For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to watch Greenland on Amazon prime, I now feel really stressed whilst watching!! And a million prepping ideas going though my head all of which would be futile in that circumstances 😬😬😬
I'm thinking of buying some kendal mint cake to add to preps.11 -
When I was a child getting my feet measured, I remember the hand operated measure always giving a different width reading to the electronic one that you put your foot in. (Obvious really, as my foot spread when putting my weight on it.) I think the electronic one was only meant as a bit of fun though. The staff always deferred to the measure used while your foot was up on the sloping bench, and as a result, my shoes were always very snug.

It has always been accurate (does both length and width), but I always made her stand up as well to check. And when doing so, her foot would always be that little bit longer and wider, like you say.She has outgrown that one recently, and I passed it onto a neighbour with a younger child. Luckily one of my other neighbours had the next gauge measure thingy and let me borrow it recently to check DDs feet.February wins: Theatre tickets10

I've never seen or tasted Kendal mint cake but all the preppers seem to use it.
