I have now taken delivery of a new PC and am looking to sell my old one to a work colleague of a friend ..
I don't want to rip them or myself off and have no idea about the value of old PCs
This is probably very subjective but can anyone offer a ball-park figure for this please?
Approx 5 years old, reasonable condition
Mesh desktop tower
ACPI Uniprocessor PC
AMD Athlon XP 1700+
1.47GHz
512 MB of RAM
MS Windows XP Home edition version 2002
Disk drives - 40gb Maxtor 6E04OLO & Maxtor 6Y08OLO - I might take this 80gb drive out
Display – NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
DVD/CD-ROM Drives - LG DVD-ROM DRD8160B & TEAC CD-W524E
Floppy Disk Drive
Standard 101/102-Key Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
Microsoft PS/2 Mouse
Plug & Play Monitor – Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 740 SB 17”
4 USB slots
many thanks

it's pretty low spec compared to the latest computers, it's like a couple in my loft I robbed for spares, wires, cd's, hd's, as long as all they want to do is web or office stuff, they will be happy, as said above, to pay about £80-, but if they expect their kids to be playing the latest games on it at christmas they are going to be dissapointed even if you gave it to them. There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0
