Can my partner get insurance on the flat

Hi
I have just had a letter for the contents insurance renewal, as I have CCJs since taking out the policy last year the price is stupidly high.
The question I have is can my other half take out a new contents policy on the flat, even though she is not living here permently (she stays at her dads house in the week to help care for him as he has health issues), she is ccj clear and it mean we could get a cheaper policy, however she is on the electoral roll at her dads address.
We just want to know if doing this would create any legal or issues should we need to claim on the policy, would appreciate quick answers to this as we need to renew in the next 2 weeks.

We were not sure if this would be the case, may be I should have also said she does have some of her property that she keeps here, and she has not got any other contents policy.
Also on the application where the question askes who is living at the premises we would click the box insured and partner, as I have done on all the other years I have took out the home contents policy.0
