Final Bill Huge after Switching

Options
Not sure what to do here.

Got a letter from my supplier saying they will debit £150 from my account tomorrow as the final settlement bill. my annual usage is around £500 so where they get £150 extra from in the final quarter which would have been a summer quarter I dont know.

Can they just go into my account and take that without sending me a final paper bill? seems like a license to print money to me......

anyway ive cancelled the DD unless its too late.

You say a final letter - have you recently changed supplier ?

Have a look at the last bill you actually got - were you in credit or debit - was the meter reading estimated or actual. If its actual you do do your own sums to work out an approximate final bill.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
