Transfer money from Spain to Bahrain

I can't seem to find the correct board to post my query so please feel free to move this if necessary.


I'm British living in Spain and I wish to send €300 to my daughter in Bahrain, preferably via her bank account. I've come to a standstill as most companies don't seem to send to Bahrain or you have to live in the UK. It costs us around 24€ to transfer from our Spanish bank to Bahrain and I'm trying to find somewhere that charges less if possible.


Any ideas please?

I think Transferwise supports conversions to BHD. I've used them in the past for other currency exchanges and they offer very good rates, with low fees so I can recommend. My other choice would be Revolut, but the currencies they support are a bit more limited

Transferwise don't appear to offer money transfers to Bahrain.

However Azimo do and they offer great rates (as good as TW if not better) with low fixed fees.

Also something to be aware of: all (or most) GCC countries have their currencies fixed to USD so you could also send USD to a Bahraini bank account and the bank would convert it at the fixed BHD/USD rate, or very close to it. In the past when I've send USD to Qatari bank account and the receiving bank has always applied the rate of 3.65 in order to convert it to QAR.

Unfortunately Transferwise don't sent to Bahrain, neither does Revolut.
