Benchmarx kitchen quote

I have a quote from benchmarx for my small kitchen. Is this a fair price? Can anyone help me understand please? Tia.

  • This is for a rental property so please do let me know if the doors I have chosen are okay.
  • Any inputs please?

I wonder is it that bad that no ones replied?!
  • Lack of response is probably due to people just not knowing if it is a good deal or not?

Could you do a comparison on a similar kitchen from somewhere else? Howdens, Homebase, Jeewsons etc? You've got the full list of what you need so might be time consuming but perfectly possible?

I haven't purchased a kitchen in many years but I wouldn't say it seems massively expensive for a kitchen with 10 units in it plus sink and appliances (no oven?)

  • Have got a quote from B&Q for the IT Santini gloss kitchen and that came to just under £2500. (Flat pack units & want atleast 2 weeks time to deliver)
Wickes qouted me about £3700 for their Glen White Kitchen (although I dont know if they are similar or better doors than the Eton) and require 4 - 6 weeks to get the flat pack units.
Awaiting a quote from Howdens. Should know by tomorrow hopefully.
Benchmarx have said that if I pay this week they can give me another £200 off the final price.

Wanted to check here before I hand over the money if I have done right.

Reusing my existing integrated Neff oven, so not buying a new one.

    Blue,
I have checked this against my Benchmarx kitchen, fitted earlier this month, and the prices seem about right for the finish you have.
As a landlord though I tend to avoid stainless steel in rentals as it scratches too easily. You can buy the heavy nylon ones for about £100.00 and they are more resilient and look better. I also avoid high gloss, looks good but a nightmare to keep clean. The only thing I would query is the worktops seem a bit pricy, but that could be because you have gone for a mid range model.
    Good luck!
  • If you're buying it to fit yourself or have a fitter do it consider buying some bits from elsewhere.

The worktop after a quick google can be had for £228 from travis perkins for a start saving you nearly £100

  • Thank you chunkytfg and meg00 for your helpful replies.

BMX have agreed to reduce the quote overall by £400 so planning to place an order. Thanks for pointing me to the TP website chunkytfg. Hopefully the worktop costs less now with the additional discount.

By nylon sinks do you mean the composite ones or is it something completely different?
Was going to get a composite sink initially but saw that those black and dark grey colour sinks at few friend's houses had discoloured, so was put off by that and changed to SS. Have chosen a dull finish hoping it won't show marks too clearly & age that soon.
The house I live in now has got a gloss kitchen in & am able to manage it ok, so went for that. Also this one being a small kitchen I hope the gloss cabinets will bounce more light around the room. My fitter had warned me against gloss worktops so kept that in mind when choosing. I hope whoever rents it will take reasonable care.

Hopefully I can get the kitchen in soon & concentrate on the other jobs to be done on the house.
