Winter Fuel Allowance overpayment

Hi

I've just had my WFA in my bank account and it looks as if it is incorrect. There are 2 of us and we get £100 each. This year we have got £200 each. As far as I can see there is no reason for this other than an error. I can't see how this can have occurred though because we get the amount automatically every year and there have been no changes such as bank account.

Neither of us has received a letter advising that the payment is due so until we get this I have no idea who to contact. There's nothing online that I could find about overpayment of WFA.

Has anyone else come across this before?

You can ring the Pension Service on 0800 731 0469 with queries about Winter Fuel Payments.

There is also a TEXTPHONE service for the deaf/hard of hearing ONLY on 0800 731 0464
