JSA and Mortgages - Help!

Does anyone know if and why our mortgage company would be informed if my partner started to receive JSA? We don't want JSA on our mortgage file or any credit reference files as surely being unemployed for a period is a red flag? We want remortgage when we are back on our feet. The online application for JSA asked for our mortgage details but it was done over the phone and we said we didn't want help with housing. I don't understand why they want this info and what they will do with it given we don't want or need help with our mortgage. We don't desperately need the JSA money- it's more the job seeking support. Although the money would help and God knows he's paid his taxes - 40 years and never been out of a job! I'd rather not claim it that risk our mortgage!
