Can anyone give me an idea of which handsets now feature the Truecall technology?

From the BT Shop only the BT 4600, Advanced and Premium are currently available with Truecall as they have the 3 levels of blocking and the web sites phone blurb mentions Truecall for those devices on their sales pages.

The BT8600 still seems to be available on a certain well known auction website and Amazon.

I have had its predecessor, the 8500, for about 3 years now and not one unwanted call has got through.

The important feature of trueCall is not the blocking of certain numbers or number types but the verbal challenge that is issued to the caller when a previously unknown number calls.

In addition to handsets such as BT 8500, BT 8600 and BT Halo, trueCall features are also built directly into the telephone network in the case of Sky (Sky Shield) and TalkTalk (Call Safe).

Ditto here - possibly the best investment I've made.

We also have had a BT8500 for nearly 2 years, easy to use and no unwanted calls get through.
Best bit is that when a new caller phones you have a choice, 1. reject, 2. accept this time only. 3. always accept. This is so easy to use, some call blockers require you to input every number you will accept manually.

I got an older set some years ago for my grandma, as she was plagued by sales calls. However as she would never have gotten to grips with the idea that the phone was her "personal assistant", I configured it so that it simply blocked any numbers that weren't already stored in the phone. The result was a complete block of everybody but those my grandma knew. She used to answer the phone with a tone of relief when she realised it wasn't another sales call - now she can't remember it being any other way.
