Tesco branch will fine thoughtless shoppers £70 if they park across two bays to make sure their cars don't get scratched
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6433527/Tesco-fine-shoppers-70-park-two-bays-make-sure-cars-dont-scratched.html
The Mail still don't understand between "fine" and "invoice"
Horizon, Tesco's favourite parking scammer has struck gold again ?
Whilst we have all seen instances of parked cars shown in the pictures, it is not the norm but Tesco want to lose more customers
Tesco do not take into account the size of vehicles and parking bays do not respect this.
A spokesman for Horizon Parking said: 'The car park management is aimed to protect disabled and parent and child spaces from misuse, and ensure customers can park with ease when visiting Tesco.'
WAKE UP TESCO, Horizon are only interested in collecting as many £70 as they can ...... surely any old fool and his dog can see that but ..... NOT TESCO ????
Employing a parking scammer is the best way to abuse customers and Tesco do that very well

So people could get a Horizon windscreen PCN and a Highview postal one, about the same visit. Nice customer service (not), Tesco.
Supermarkets need to distance themselves from PPCs and start putting customers first. It would be easy to deal with people like that by just having a quiet word or putting a warning on the windscreen that would be enough to scare and embarrass most people.
I do not condone idiots parking like that but fining them is NEVER the answer.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Of all the supermarkets Mrs U drags me around, Tesco has the narrowest of all parking bays. They are also short in nature and those Mitsubishi Animals (and their ilk) with the additional huge tow-hook sticking out of the back are real hazards to both pedestrians and passing vehicles through extending well beyond their bay. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

All agreed
Why are Tesco's so backwards in going forward0 -
protect disabled and parent and child spaces from misuse
Putting parent and child spaces in the same category is just plain wrong, P+C bays are nothing more than a gimmick, and promoting them (P+ C bays) as something else gives people a false sense of entitlement, there have been a few cases on here where someone has received a PCN ( of either flavour) as they used a Disabled bay, because no P+C bays were available.
As for Tescos atitude, if there is a Tesco double dip, then the cannons should be set at full bore towards the store manager/site manager/CEO with regards to a GDPR breach, with that person being named as responsibleFrom the Plain Language Commission:

I think that the CEO of Tesco, Dave Lewis is more interested in beating Lidl and Aldi with their own cheap JACKS stores.
I know someone who went to JACKS who said it was like a food bank except you have to pay.

I swear it isn't new as the Tesco in this area which are infested by Horizon have similar "you must park within a marked bay" terms on their various signage.
Although as that normally requires folk on the ground rather than the CCTV cameras to log movements Horizon normally can't be bothered enforcing it.0 -

No, it's not new, Tesco disrespect their customers all over the UK, this is just another one where customers will go elsewhere
By the way, it's ANPR not CCTV0 -
Wont affect me at all, I never go to Tescos

I've not used Tescos for many years and for many reasons, they are a despicable company who bully suppliers into working for next to nothing, I know I was that supplier many years ago, facilities manager basically said to me 'if you don't like the contract F*** off, plenty more two bit companies like yours to choose from'
What a nice chap eh?0
