White vs Black induction hob

Hi all,

I'm getting a induction hob, we are having a white worktop in the kitchen so I prefer a white hob too. However, I'm wondering if anyone know whether white has any disadvantage than black hob in terms of cleaning, perhaps burn mark or cooking stain?

I"ve never had a induction hob, always gas. I used a induction whilst on holiday and there was a ring deposit mark on black hob, not sure if it can be cleaned off easily?

Thanks.

Our induction hob is a couple of years old now, black, & looks like new although it is used daily.
I'm reliably informed that Hob Brite cleaner is what keeps it looking that way.
We would never have any other type of hob than an induction now.

Our black neff induction hobb is over 10 years old and looks as good as new. I only use washing up water to clean it with. The Hob Brite we bought, is still in the cupboard

We too have a 10 year old induction hob in black which still looks as good as new. Don't think I'd ever have a white one.
  • A black induction hob owner here, of some 14 years. Still as good as new.

Food doesn't burn onto an induction hob as the hob is magnetic but you do get deposits from overzealous cooking. Ordinary washing up water and a cloth with the occasional dab of Astonish if DS is home from UNI and everything is boiled over the pan top.

What colour is your floor, walls, other appliances, it may help to have a break in the white....

I don't have an induction hob, but I do have a white glass gas one and I love it. It gets lots of compliments and looks lovely against white worktop, so even though I can't help on the most important bit about marking on induction hobs, but it sounds from other replies that you might be good there. I just wanted to let you know that the white does look good (and the glass cleans up perfectly on a gas hob) :)
