Hey everyone,
I am starting this diary now as my journey to becoming a homeowner is my main focus right now.
I won't be able to start saving until January 2019 but I wanted to start thinking about the plans now as it is going to take me around 5 years to save enough to get a mortgage.

Buy my forever home :heartpuls

I did start a diary here before quite a while back but a lot has changed since then.
Split with my ex who I had been with for 17 years and at the ripe old age of 35 that was really my whole adult life.
Anyway but of a shock to the system and a massive adjustment to life.
I have moved back in with my Mum who has been an absolute angel and allowed me to stay there rent free while I pay off my debt.
This year I have paid off £12364.09, another £390 to pay then I am done.
I did try to apply for a council house but it just said don't bother if you have a room in your house and are not in complete dire straights so I thought you know what I am going to buy my own place, there is no reason I cannot do it.

Thank you FIREdoc - I am sooooooooo excited.
Cannot wait to make those payments.
As soon as the payment clears the Barclaycard account is getting closed down, I have no need for a credit card with a £12,500 limit :money:
