Capital One Website

Does anyone else think that the new Capital One website is rubbish?

I used to be able to download transactions to Microsoft Money, but their new website only includes an option to download to an excel spreadsheet.

I used to be able to order a new credit card if the old one got damaged, but now have to compose a message to send them.

Worst of all, if I move house, I do not have the option to change my address online. I either have to ring them (and speak to someone who doesn't understand me and hope that they get it right) or use an ios 'app' which can only download to an iPhone (not iPad) and has to be at least ios 10. So being an older person who can't hear so well, or see so well as far as fiddly phones are concerned, my options are quite limited. It doesn't make clear on their website if I can write to them instead.

I know the easy answer is to just cancel the card, but they don't make that very simple either. :(

  • I just logged on to CapitalOne to check about the downloading of statements. I am given the option to "Download as CSV". CSV, if memory serves me accurately, is compatible with MSMoney :)

Surely the easy answer is to accept that you don't move house or need a new card particularly frequently, and that a two-step export/import to MS Money (via CSV or Excel) is hardly the end of the world?

One useful post out of 3 isn't bad. Thanks :)

I've googled but how exactly is it compatible? Presumably I need to download a converter. A lot of the googled links are dead and I don't want to download a virus either. Do you know of any good programs for this that you have used yourself?
  • I have not used MSMoney for years, so cannot remember what I used to convert.

I just googled for the most recent conversion process and the first entry was:
    https://www.propersoft.net/howto/import-into-ms-money

The feedback on Propersoft is vastly positive and I would be confident to try it. (Maybe scan it first with good av program) :)

I saw that one already, but thanks. :) Buy now $39.99. :( Now I know that this is possible I'll keep looking.
  • Update: Am I the only one that didn't realise that the Capital One app works on an iPad even though it is down as an iPhone only app?:o

My wife recently purchased a new iPad and the app works like a charm on the iPad. What's more - because the resolution is set for an iPhone, it is almost triple the size it should be, which is perfect for someone like myself with less than perfect eyesight and ham-fisted fingers.

Still looking for a free program to convert csv to qif or osx though. Why couldn't they have just kept that functionality when 'improving' the website? I realise MS Money is an old program now - perhaps there is not much of a demand for it.
