You're not going to be successful with a Section 75 claim because the weather didn't play ball! How is that the fault of the tour operator?
In any event you can only claim under that clause when you don't receive the goods you paid for, not because you think you're not likely to receive them.0 -
Just noticed the cost! Almost 4 grand for 4 people for 2 nights, 2 of which are presumably small children!
Is that normal for a trip like that? Blimey.
Ive just paid less than that for 2 weeks for 2 people in a 5 star all inclusive in the height of summer :eek:0 -

Horses for courses. The cost isn't relevant to you or me.
If the OP wants to book/spend on this it is up to them, they are seeking advice on the T&C of their booking.0 -
The purpose of my posts in relation to this thread were to seek advice. If you don't have anything constructive to say please don't waste mine time or others.
It's an open forum, anyone can post - even if you don't deem it helpful.
Just because it's not what you want to hear doesn't mean it's unhelpful - this is a real-life forum, not a place everyone just gives people the answer they want.0 -
I went to Iceland 2 weeks ago and the main reason was to see Northern lights...Guess what no lightshow. Did I start crying about getting my money back, no as it's nature.0

Can’t see how you could possibly be entitled to compensation any more than you would if you went on a beach holiday and it rained all week.
That was going g to be my comment.
No tour operator can guarantee the weather, they may not be able to change dates for you as later dates may well be fully booked.0 -

Not all advice is, or can be, constructive. My advice is:
1. hope it snows between now and your trip
2. if it doesn't, make the best of the trip anyway, as the Ts & Cs you agreed to aren't going to help you get compo. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Help required,
RE - No snow in Lapland 2018.
We have a holiday booked to Lapland departing 4/12/18 and due to the current weather situation of no snow (or very little), I'd like to ask if anyone else is in the same situation and what our options are?
I've spoken with my tour operator 'Santa's Lapland' this this morning 27/11/18 and they aren't offering alternative dates or allowing cancellations.
They have told me that alternative activities would be would be offered in the resort if conditions didn't improve however they cant tell my what these are.
Do we have any rights to cancel through our credit card company on the grounds that the trip is likely to be vastly different to what they have advertised.
Full details of my trip are:- Destination - Saariselka, Finland
- Tour Operator - Santa's Lapland
- Package - Santa's Aurora
- Dates - 4/12/18 - 6/12/18 (Two nights)
- Cost £3666.00 ( Family of four)
Regards,
J.
What would you like to hear? You can cancel and will get your money back? If so... Yes, go ahead and cancel and you will receive a full refund.
If you would like the truth - You can't cancel a holiday and get a refund because the weather isn't up to scratch. Blimey.0 -
Have you looked at their Facebook page?

Dear guests,
Following our communications on Friday last week, we are delighted to say that Saariselkä has had a good level of snowfall and the included activities in your holiday package are up and running in resort. If there are any pre-booked optional activities that are unable to run, these will be replaced with alternatives or will of course be refunded upon arrival. We, and our dedicated teams on the ground, remain committed to doing everything we can to ensure you have a magical experience, and we will of course provide further updates if necessary. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you, and your family to Lapland.
Seems you are worrying unnecessarily0
