Well I for one am glad you both got that sorted.

The 'infringement' as per the contract is due to the fact the permit wasn't in clear view that day.

While I appreciate the honest feedback regarding what I replied to on Money Claim online I would still appreciate it if anyone can point to next steps? I am assuming that as they are emailing me asking for a reasonable offer they know they probably wouldn't win in court.

They are claiming £160 for the fine for not displaying the permit. £9.58 for interest. £25 for the court fees and £50 for solicitors fees.

£160 IS FAKE, they know it and it stems from a silly debt collector.

    FAKE £60 ?
In addition to the 'parking charge', the Claimant's legal representatives, have artificially inflated the value of the Claim by adding costs of £60 which has not actually been incurred by the Claimant, and which are artificially invented figures in an attempt to circumvent the Small Claims costs rules using double recovery.

But they can't claim £60 on top of the £100 charge, as there are not damages or costs to reasonable claim or add (because they made them up, as an attempt at double recovery).

All stages are shown in the NEWBIES thread post #2 where bargepole summarises in a link, what happens when. We do not need to hear about the N180 Directions Questionnaire...

Come back at Witness Statement/evidence stag in GOOD TIME before the hearing.

You did NOT counter claim and should never have tried if you didn't understand it. Your defence is very weak indeed but hopefully with enough reading of the NEWBIES thread examples you might rescue it at WS stage. PPCs must love defences like that. Sorry to say.

  • The 'newbies' thread is a mile long and has more links than a sausage factory.

In the time spent repeating that and bickering amongst yourselves one of you could have provided me with a little more information that blah blah crap defense, blah blah I'm never wrong, blah blah 10 mile FAQ thread.

Blah blah blah. You lot make paying the fine look like the less painful option.

Now can someone just provide me with some advice that excludes opinion or their own ego?

    Please.

Thanks. I wrote it, and no, it isn't when you go to the EXACT LINK I told you to look at:

Why not ask MSE for your subscription fee back as the volunteers here are not providing advice to your satisfaction.

I think there is a 48-hours cooling off period (might help!).
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Which is a shame.

The "keyboard warriors" as you say, win more times than lose

But I guess as you don't approve of "keyboard warriors" you would not expect them to respond either

    Never mind
  • Make that a defensive keyboard warrior...

And, no, I don't expect keyboard warriors to respond. I expected mature positive adults to respond.

Clearly, they don't exist down here in the dark depths of holier than thou parking ticket keyboard gods.
