Property pension

I own a rental residence that was my home before I rented, I'm reading it would be better to put it in a pension fund is this the case

    It would be a terrible idea because residential property isn't a permitted investment for UK pensions. If you managed to buy it within the fund, you'd be subject to punitive tax charges that would make it far worse than owning the property outright, even if you were being very heavily taxed.


    You should probably lose that particular source of information!

    As Aegis says above, not really an option for a UK pension.
    Your phrasing 'rental residence' gives a slight hint of US phraseology, so perhaps you're not in the UK?

    you could sell it and put the money into a pension (and isas) using your annual allowance each year.
