Anyone know what time HSBC (The bank) makes money available? (Not received benefit)

Morning everyone.

I posted here yesterday with queries about my PIP. I was worried that it wouldn't go in today because I recently informed them that I have changed banks from Natwest to HSBC. I didn't know if this would delay it.
A quick call yesterday to the PIP query line and the lady told me that my payment was going in tomorrow (Of course today now) as normal and nothing had changed. I confirmed TWICE that they had the correct new bank account, they did.
It's now nearly 6.30am of the day my payment was due and I've got nothing in my bank account. Nothing has been deposited as of yet.
When I was with NatWest they would make funds available around 2:30am. I've also checked my old bank account incase my money did go there, it hasn't.
I'm wondering if HSBC have a ridiculously late update time compared to other banks? I can't find much on google. If it hasn't gone in before 8am I'll have to borrow money from my partner so that I can get to work. If HSBC is always late depositing payments I think I will move banks honestly.
Thanks

Check Natwest account, as i suspect it may have gone to your old account.

If not in either after 7am, then it probably won't be received today and you should call PIP.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I used to bank with HSBC and they always process payments about 12.30, much earlier than Natwest do. If it's not in there now then you most likely won't receive it today but check your other bank just in case.

When did you change bank and when did you inform DWP of the change?
DWP don't consider a payment to be late until the day after it falls due so they won't reissue a payment today. That is because the receiving bank can process at any time during the day.
If DWP released the payment on time, and to the correct bank, the onus will be on you to chase your bank to find out why the money hasn't reached your account.
  • Did you get this sorted?
  • No, as everyone predicted it hasn't gone in. I'm going to ring PIP when I finish work.
I have doubts the woman I spoke to yesterday knew what she was talking about. She didn't sound very happy at all to take my call and also repeatedly claimed that my payment dates 'would not have changed' before I even fully told her what my problem was! She also said that I was wrong for assuming HSBC always show 'pending transactions' and my PIP payment wouldn't appear as pending the day before - this was my initial query because HSBC always tells me when my pay check and ESA (CB) is due to go in. Why would it show pending for my ESA 24 hours before but not for PIP? That makes no sense. I don't think my payment has been put forward at all.
Now I'm terrified that I won't get my PIP before Christmas. I work less than 16 hours a week due to recent ill health and I won't be able to afford presents if this is the case. I also won't be able to afford to eat at all this week if nothing is sorted, as I have £0 in my bank. I already have not eaten today and won't be doing if money doesn't appear in my bank, which it likely will not for 5 days if the payment needs re-sending.
I'm also riddled with anxiety that something has changed about my benefits claim and that's why I haven't been paid, but the woman on the phone didn't mention anything like that. She just said my PIP was due to go in today..
  • Quick update - Called PIP and they told me my payment has been issued and it's on the banks end. They said to contact my bank, which I am doing now. They did issue the payment to my new bank account and are unsure as to why it hasn't gone in.
They have told me if I'm no further forward with my bank that I should send a bank statement proving my PIP never hit my bank account and they can re-issue the payment. Very confused and worried, this isn't good for my anxiety :(
  • Ring NatWest, I’m with them and their telephone banking team are great.
  • What happened to the £62k you had in savings ? Why did you change bank accounts ?

Great spot, yeah so what has happened to your 62k you had in savings only last month? And you said you earn £16500 per year...
