Good monring guys,
I have an idea to maybe make some money on the side, which I could certainly do with.
I am thinking of making a website that offers PC support and tutorials. The thing is is that I can do it from anywhere, it is a terminal style support where I effectively log onto the computer and show people whereever they are.
Do you think this is a good idea?
Thanks

Great idea. I would like to do the same but I can't at the moment due to work commitments. As a result I would like to be involved with such a business in some other form.
I would imagine a common problem would be firewalls. Is there a piece of software that can help a remote desktop connection through a firewall?Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker0 -

A very good idea. Considered the same thing on many occasions but never really got around to doing anything!SS Christmas Challenge: £109.900

I do not know what to do about the cost structure. It can go one of two ways:
1. Pay per "hour" style where a customer pays per time that I have to help them.
or
2. Per type of problem, so, for example, fixing a problem in word would cost £X where as fixing a problem server would be £Y.
Which do you think would be better guys? Or is there a way to price other than these methods.
Thanks Once again...
BTW, i think the name is going to be "Help Me!"0 -
I think it'd be a brilliant idea!! I'm having numerous problems with the pc from hell and can't find anyone to turn to for help apart from PC World who want to charge me a minimum labour charge of £120 just to look at it
It'd be great to be able to email/call someone, say "this is what's happening, what do I do" and have step by step advice without the need to remorgage the house! Oh and no technical jargon. Just clear, easy to understand language. Good luck if you do do ahead and do it! :TMy mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0 -
The guy who does my computer repairs, set up etc, he charges £30.00 per hour, hope that helps xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

I think the PC support part is the better of the two suggestions. I think that tutorials are already oversaturated. For the programs I use there is nothing I cannot find out in the top 10 results of a google search.0
