I am a PP customer. They emailed us today saying that their variable electricity unit cost would increase by 8.5% from mid January. This might explain why they are not near the top of the CEC now.

I don't blame them. Wholesale costs are gone up 20% this year and I always knew I was taking a risk with a variable tariff as the Brexit uncertainty continues.

Anyway I've gone back for a bit of pricier certainty and switched back to Green Network Energy's MSE exclusive fixed renewable tariff. As I only left GNE 20 days ago, my time with PP will be the shortest time I've been with an energy company. Pity, because it has a decent rep as far as I can see. Just the model is difficult in the current energy supply climate.

I was tempted to switch but couldn't see them being able to sustain such low rates for much longer.
