Indigo missed chance to appeal?

Apologies if this has been asked a million times. I need some reassurance as the scary letters are scaring me!
The driver received a Penalty Notice at a train station on 19/09/18 for 'failing to display a valid ticket' (breach code 1, Rail Byelaw 14).
It was the driver's intention to appeal using the template on here but now we have received a letter from ZZPS threatening magistrates court action etc.
Should I still appeal using the template (and not identifying driver etc)?
Or just ignore?
Thanks!

It has been asked a million times. Indigo at railway stations can be ignored. This advice is specific to this situation and should not be applied to other situations.
In saying that it doesn't hurt to send the template.0 -
Have you read the newbies thread specifically talking about railway fines? If so you would know that ZZPS are liars!0
-
ok thanks! I do know they are liars but they're still scary somehow with all their threats.
When we get to the 6 months and they have missed the deadline to do anything in court, will these jokers stop contacting us or do we need to do something to make them go away? My OH is getting very twitchy already0 -
They will need telling. They do stop when told though.0

If you search the forums there's plenty of threads with lots of the same info.0

Of course, since that's the first letter. As the NEWBIES thread tells you, that's the NTK and the keeper can appeal at that stage - and then to POPLA.Should I still appeal using the template (and not identifying driver etc)?
Do each stage as late as possible, to string it out to the six months to kill it off. Nothing happens.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
