OFTM Advice

I have a switch to Pure Planet scheduled in 17 days. My OFTM DD is due on 1st Dec. In the last month its increased from £61, to £74 now to £124. My usage for November so far is approx £61 but the first increase happened before it was collected so I estimate I'm £13 in credit.
I want to cancel the DD to prevent £124 being taken on the 1st. Iv'e sent a dozen or so emails and had no sensible or meaningful response.
I'm not worried about them adding a £25 charge , they will get what I owe them and not a penny more.
But I'm worried if I cancel the DD they can prevent the switch , is this true ?

I'm in somewhat the same position although I'm around £100 in credit shortly to be £200 , my switch completes on 5 Dec but my new inflated DD of £124 is taken on 28 Nov, from what I gather from Ofgem they can't prevent the switch if you're in credit.0

Call them; provide meter readings and discuss the amount of credit left to pay the Final Bill. If it is sufficient, then advise them of your intention to cancel the DD mandate in their favour. Credit balances are meaningless unless based on actual meter readings and, even then, they are only valid for the day that the bill was raised. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Further to my previous, what I intend to do is to wait until the £124 DD is taken in two days time then take a photo of the meters and send them an email to claim the credit back, this is the email address they supplied refunds@outfoxthemarket.co.uk, they really have no idea of the potential damage they're doing to people's financial planning by nearly doubling the monthly payment which I don't think that you can stop, I might be wrong on that though.0

Sorry, but based on my past experience with Iresa, you are probably wasting your time. Once a transfer has been started most suppliers will freeze an account until such time as they have industry-validated transfer readings from the new supplier. The losing supplier also has up to 6 weeks from the date of the actual transfer to raise a Final Bill. Any credit repayment will then follow. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Its not possible to contact OFTM, they are not a proper company. I just need to know if they can prevent the switch going ahead if the DD is cancelledThe greatest prediction of your future is your daily actions.0 -

I'm probably going to just cancel the DD. They can add the £25 charge if they like, its of no concern, its likely they will no longer be trading soon so I really dont want to be in creditThe greatest prediction of your future is your daily actions.0
