'Gone to the underwriter' just means it went through the system.
It doesn't necessarily mean it went to any one to physically review.0 -

Juay an update in case its useful to anyone.
Partner had a letter through from Virgin, asking for ID in the form of passport and utility bill, didnt give a decision, just said they need the id to make one...
I received two letters from Aqua today, one telling me that I have been successful and need to sign and return the contract, odd as I thought my electronic signature accepting it was enough..Second letter said I have been declined as I already have one of their cards , which I don't, and that they haven't ran a credit check, which they clearly have..
May be because of the system messing up as per above posts..odd how they can send out two contradictory letters though. They even have the same application number on them both. Suprised its all so stoneage. Will have to call tomorrow!0 -
Personally id stick with Aqua application just in case Virgin gets rejected (having said that if they asked for ID then id say that a good sign)...its amazing the difference a steady line of Green ticks makes after 6 months.
Chances are they will up your limit every 4 months and that in turn will help.
My credit history after Bankruptcy was shocking...its now back to a decent standing and seem to be eligible for main stream credit.
Just start plugging away and before you know it the History will snowball in a positive way.0 -
Yes, I spoke with Aqua yesterday, they told me to ignore the letters. I was accepted and the card is on its way. It was due to thwir systwm crashing. Have to say I was really happy to hear that on the basis of what you said..Irony is I had all sorts thrown at me as a financially illiterate student years ago with the obcious results, the. In adulthood I couldnt access anything despite working full time!
Nust waiting to hear from Virgin.0 -
Am I the only one shocked that you receive 1250 a month universal credit? I must be crazy working for a living!0

https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/what-youll-get clarifies the applicable payments if you're genuinely interested....0 -

No idea if you are the only one shocked. Not really relevant is it. As per the above post if you are genuinely interested, its because it includes and replaces everything else, including local housing allowance and working tax credits, what with us being a working family..If it makes you feel better, it doesnt even cover the rent where we live, andso basically goes to our landlord who owns about 100 properties..
It depends entirely where you live, personal circumstances and how much you earn working as well
Feel better/worse?0 -
Back to the actual topic. Aqua card received..No confirmation of the 6 months 0% interest..Could have sworn it said money transfer was possible as well, but cant see any facility for that on the app..
Partner received ID back from Virgin, still awaiting a decision..0 -
Update.
Partner called Virgin and they confirmed application was succesful.
Result!
Thanks all0
