Mser's please advise what cost 9th Nov until tonight 25th Nov has been.
Whilst I was billed upto 9th Nov after which my sse account was 59.90 Credit
I entered tonight's readings and find my account is 37.33 Debit

My question does that mean cost form 9/11 to 25h/11 is costing 37.33
Or have I used all 59.90+37.33 -I hope my 1st answer is correct.
New sse online concern raised tonight as since my ongoing online fault was resolved after some months -I find when I immediately view 'what I've used' tonight's readings are showing 25th O'ct -incorrect.

Feel free to offer your advise MSEr's

Were the two bills based on actual or estimated readings? I am guessing here but I suspect that either both readings, or one of the readings is estimated.

For example, if the reading on the 9th was an estimate and the one on the 25th was based on an actual meter reading, then you have what is known as a ‘catch up’ bill. In other words, the estimated meter reading on the 9th was lower than it should have been.

When it comes to debit and credit balances, there is a single truth. The balance is only accurate if it is based on an actual meter reading, and then only on the day that the bill (charges) was raised.

If you have entered the two readings (correctly) then I am afraid you have used nearly £100s worth of energy.

As said above, it probably means that an estimated meter reading has been used.

You can have situations where a bill is based on an under-estimated meter reading and the next bill, based on an actual meter reading, is bigger than normal because it corrects that under-estimate reading. e.g. if the first bill underestimated by, say, 1000kWh; the second bill would be for the actual consumption plus the 1000kWh.

Conversely you can have over-estimated bill and the next bill is smaller.

    Thanks mser's
    Off call to c/s.
When I entered readings yesterday it was within my billing period.
I have indeed used 97 of electricity between 25th Oc't and 25th Nov' -that's a new personal high for my usage.
I'm gong to try living room electric fire next weekend for maybe an hour our two-then take readings again.
I commented I hope I'm not entering into 200 per month territory.
My average what was approx 75 to latest 97 -approx 22 per month for using bedroom wall mounted electric fire for half an hour a few nights recently.
Interesting mser's mention 1 Estimated reading-are these made up estimated readings from my multiple meter readings as I had to wait a few months until sse sorted 'view what you've used' feature on their website and 1 reading did show E -why I've no idea, I wish I could view what I have been entering multiple times accurately
C/S offered to re enter my readings from yesterday which should then show 25th Nov -without any changes to my balance-funny they do now show 25th Nov -and my balance has gone from 43 credit back to previous 59.90 credit -this looks like changes have been made to my bills since she offered to re enter those readings,
Lots to learn since being sse customer -maybe the NPower merger will bring some decent i.t. for their Customers and Advisors.

The terms of the proposed merger are under review: analysts say that it might be kicked into the long grass if revised terms cannot be agreed.

Tonight my account has since gone upto 140.90 credit.
Let's hope this balances correctly next few days as I'm very confused.
Though No'v end DD is included.
Maybe the correct balance is 59.90 credit-though I thought it was 43 or something credit inlcuding No'v DD.
    Entering overthinking for this.
Could be interesting few months which will determine as I 1st thought wether I continue with sse after year one or switch.
