which bank for clear bank statements

This may be a stupid question but is there bank that shows your transaction clearly in your bank statement? I.e. a bank that shows as much info as possible about each transaction.
i'm freelance and about to go digital for my tax returns, book keeping etc.
Just seem to be spending my life googling strange company names which aren't directly related to the place the transaction happened. Takes so long to do.
Is Monzo good for things like this?
Maybe all banks provide the same level of info on statements.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried simply clicking the name of the transaction on your online bank? For me (using Halifax) that brings up additional info, including the retailer name, business type and even a map of where it is.0

It depends who processes the transaction
For example some restaurants or fuel stations won’t show their names but the name of the holding company or the franchise company or the company used to process the transaction.0 -
Thanks for your replies. Yes I do click for more info but often the info is as Gary says above.

Sounds like it's across the board issue and not to do with which bank you're with. I just thought maybe there has been some advancement by a bank by now where it was really clear and more info given.0 -
For card payments, the text on your statement is what the merchant decided to use when they set up their Merchant ID with their acquirer. Individual banks can't really do much to add extra clarity, though as mentioned, some now do integrate Google Maps into their apps so you can see the location.0

Hi Migster, do you know which banks are integrating google maps?0
