Roof Repointing

I got conned last year so hoping to get advice on this. I got whole roof repointed (2 hips and ridge), semi detached, 3 years ago. It was a fair job at a reasonable price. I've lost this guy's contact details. A few bits of cement came off last year and the next guy definitely conned me. The patch job was rubbish.
I'm saving up for a new roof as it's still the original one from 1964 so thinking of getting a patch job done again. Hope to get new roof in 2 years.
A roofer came and gave a quote of £280 to do a patch-up (redo the missing bits - about 6 locations) and £450 to repoint 2 hips and 1 ridge. Are these prices high?

Is the missing pointing causing any problems? If not, leave it alone for two years.
Price depends on a lot, where you are for instance. Here in the Midlands I just had all the ridges & hips rebedded for £1500, with a 7 year guarantee, by a longstanding local company. It'a big house, 6 hips & 2 ridges.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

That's good advice. I'll check the attic out first and if all clear (fingers crossed), I'll leave alone. Many thanks.
