Hi all,
We’re in the process of buying a Wicklow with Gleesons and was just wondering if anyone else has bought a Wicklow or something similar that could tell me their experiences?
Currently there’s only myself, husband and 2 cats that’s going to be living in the property, we’ve talked about having one child but I’m not sure they’ll be enough room.
Any experiences of living in the Wicklow or something similar would be appreciated

It has three bedrooms what makes you think you won't have room for one child?
Do the cats have a room each?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

The rooms aren’t the biggest that’s why I was concerned they wouldn’t be much room for 3 people - and yes it’s that one. I’ve realised my autocorrect has caused many spelling mistakes so I apologise for that.0

The more space you have, the more you will fill it. Plenty of 3 beds with 2 adults and 2 children, so it will be adequate. Not overly spacious but sufficient. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I'd have said those bedroom sizes are fairly good. 2 doubles and a good sized single. Those who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000

Can you get a wardrobe and a chest of drawers in bedroom 3? Just? And a desk for homework? Rather I think not. My 3rd bedroom is 3.2 x 2.1 m plus built-in cupboard, and I'd call it a small single
You lose quite a lot of the lounge as it's also the through passage to the kitchen and stairs.

See how the sofas don't have arms? Makes them smaller. See how shallow the tables each side of the fire are? Mirrors to make the room look bigger. Telly on the wall. No space for anything else. Mind your head getting up from that sofa under the stairs. In normal houses that's called an under-stair cupboard.
Not a lot of natural light in that lounge either - the video relies on electric light from the lobby.
Kitchen has one space for a washing machine. Don't know where the tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer go. If they're all built-in it doesn't leave you with much cupboard space. There isn't a tall larder cupboard, or a broom cupboard.
Even in the show house they keep spare towels on top of the bog seat. There's lovely. Only one towel ring and no airing cupboard of course (combi boiler presumably).
If your gut feeling is telling you the house is too small from seeing the show home with all its space-saving tricks, that probably means it is too small when all the usual clutter of domestic life is squeezed in.
You might be better with a 2-bedroom with bigger rooms, as the 3rd bedroom may well end up being a junk room anyway. Or not getting a new house, which are often over-priced.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Legally, even that third bedroom would be acceptable for two adults without being "overcrowded" - the standard to be countable is 4.6m2, and that's just under 4.7m2.
But they'd have to be on bunk beds.
Just big enough so you don't have to be rehoused by the council is hardly an echoing endorsement.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

But bear in mind this is the third bedroom for a couple who are considering whether the property is big enough for the two of them plus one child.0 -
Check the area that the house is in very carefully. Gleeson homes are cheap because the land they are on was cheap. Often because it is in a cheap/bad area.0
