They will unbolt the flexi from the downpipe, and from the interpipe if it's separate. They will bolt a new flexi on. If the flexi is integral with the interpipe, they will bolt a new interpipe on. If the flexi is integral with the cat, you're getting a new cat.0 -
You did.
Nobody is going to get the MIG out.
Show me where I said that.. You've just made them up in your head and your buddy over there ran wild with it.
Here are picture on how they repair flex pipe damages: https://www.mrexhaust.co.uk/flex_repairs.htm
Remember this is an exhast specialist, not some idiots who will put in a chinese ebay flex pipe repair kit and angle grind the old one off and clamp in a new one.0 -
Well that escalated quickly and needlessly.
Unless it's a premium make car or the flexi is on the cat it would Probably have been cheaper to have a new exhaust section fitted at a local exhaust place and certainly quicker.0 -
The OP wants the exhaust mended/repaired to his/her satisfaction. My suggestion is to ask your prefered exhaust specialist if there is an MOT test station nearby. If so then book in and then get both done on the same journey. If worried about having no current MOT then arrange transport, its not that expensive if pre booked.0
