Understanding British gas smart meter monthly usage value

Hi all I'm hoping I can get some help on this.

I recently had a new boiler installed so thought I'd check my smart meter to see how it's affected my usage.
On the smart meter I accessed the "usage" tab, then scrolled through "today '," yesterday", weekly etc until I got to the monthly bar chart. The total value shown here is over £700. I hope that this does not mean I have spent that much in gas this month!

By looking at the bar graph on this page I suspect that it is actually showing how I've spent over the last 14 months however I'm not sure why the page would be titled monthly if that's the case.

Can anyone else who has the BG smart meter check theirs for me and confirm if it appears to be a value reflecting the last year or so? I would really appreciate this

Not got one as not with BG.


However the silly IHD you are looking at (not the meter I assume), is just a cheap bit of nonsence and nothing compared to actually puttingg number in a spreadsheet.


If only the suppliers saw this and just gave us what we need. I list of reads down to whatever level we autherise. Not some graph that is probably making too many assumptions.


I mean I can see my smart use online if I hover over the graph. Where is the dowload function. Useless.


Here is a question for anyone in the know since I have not been working on the domestic side for 9 years or so. Is there anything in the smart meter regulations that say they have to give me the meter data if I ask for it? You know much like they can with AMR in the business side. I do not know!
