Induction hob not working

Have a beko induction hob which is probably a few years old in the new flat I've moved into, I've noticed one of the hobs doesn't seem to be working. When I place a pan on the hob it constantly makes a constant clicking sound and setting the heat to 8/9 does not heat the pan up. All 3 other hobs are working fine without any issues.

Just wondering if there's any basics checks I can do myself, how much would it cost to get it repaired or if it's worth getting it replaced.

TIA

  • Put the make & model into Youtube / Google & see what comes up ??
I once took a non working induction hob apart to see if I could fix it.
I was just a mass of complicated electrical circuitry.... so I binned it !!
  • Have done that, sadly nothing came up except how to take off the child lock. I'm tempted to get it replaced as there's some good deals on at the moment and from what I've read the newer ones tend to work a lot better.

    Silly question, but....

Have you tried the same pan on different zones ?

Not all pans work on induction hobs, and those that do have a magnetic bottom. Very small pans can also be a problem as they don't have the mass needed to work properly.

That said, it is probably a fault with the electronics, so either call Beko and see if they can/will repair, or get a new hob.

All pans I have are induction compatible, tried 3 different pans all work okay except the problem zone.

Figured you probably had checked the pans. But worth pointing out in case someone else wants to know why their pan doesn't work on a new induction hob.

  • Clicking on and off shows it's trying to work but not sensing there's a pan in place. Might be a simple fix, I really don't know, maybe just a sensor
