Court summons

Hi any advice greatly needed,
I received a speeding fine last December which I paid in time £100. Shortly after I moved address, in February I registered the car with the dvla to my new address and my insurance company. Today bailiffs were at my old address (parents house) with a fine looking for over £600 in court costs. I rang the courthouse and they said they never received payment or my licence for points. I never sent my licence off for points it didn't say had to when I paid my fine to an automated service over the phone. I checked my bank and 6 months after I paid my fine it was refunded back in to my account? I have to appear in court next week apparently to sort this out. I never received the original letters as its been nearly a year now since the original offence.
what should I do??

Since we specialise in private parking charges here on MSE, you would be better going over to our friends on pepipoo.com as they are the experts on real fines.

Speeding? Is this in any way, in the wildest of imagination, linked to private parking?
I'm struggling.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
