dont want BT anymore

i dont use my home for more than 2 outgoing calls a week and they are normaly less than 5mins each, but my BT bill is massive compared to the call costs what with 'this charge that charge rent this service charge that' its all a waste of money HOWEVER i do need a BT line for my internet connection.
how on earth can i make cuts to my bill when i hardly use the phone anyway.

BTW its B/band not dial up.

Could you chat up the neighbours about sharing wireless access?

Other than that, there is little choice unless you find cheaper phone bundled in with cable services; whilst I don't know much about them, they often include an amount of calls and as you hardly make any, you'd be unlikely to find this was cheaper

Try One.Tel's StandardUK Talk package when all your weekend calls to landline numbers with STD code beginning with 01 or 02 will be free. Also take up their line rental option which is £9.99 per month compare to £10.50 from BT. Enter the number of the 2 calls you make onto their Top Caller numbers feature to get an extra 10% discount on their already chepaer rates than BT.

I take that you are not using 18866 or 1899 to make phone calls as One.Tel does not appear to allow you use to make calls through these companies if you take up their line rental option.

This is not a massive saving but I hope it will help - especially when BT are going to round up the call charges to the next whole penny plus rounding up the VAT to the next whole penny as well!
