Feeding washing machine from boiler pipes

Could anyone offer advice on installing a washing machine in our boiler cupboard, please?
We need to relocate our washing machine within our flat and have a space within the cupboard that houses our boiler. Getting rid of the waste water should be no problem. But we need to figure out how to get a water supply.
There are pipes running up through the floor and into the boiler. One of these has a tap that appears to be the stopcock for the flat, suggesting it is the mains water supply.
Should it therefore be possible to take a feed for the washing machine from this pipe (without affecting the boiler)?
Any advice would be appreciated!

1. If you are sure its the incoming mains, then yes, you can take a feed from it and it shouldn't affect the boiler.
2. If its a combi boiler, then while the washing machine is filling you might not get as much hot water out of the combi as normal, depending on the flow rate into your property. Could be a minor problem if you are having a hot shower at the time it fills!
3. Make sure there's enough room in the cupboard with the washing machine in place to access all boiler controls (including the valves under the boiler) and that there is enough clearance room to comply with the boiler manufacturer's instructions.0 -
Are you sure it's the stopcock to the flat and not just to isolate the boiler? Turn it off and try the kitchen and bathroom taps to find out.
Regardless you cab take a T off the cold water inlet from the boiler.
Google the boiler manual and find out for sure what pipe is the mains in to the boiler.0
