Amex Rewards Points on Amazon

I've tried and failed several times to enrol my Amex rewards card with Amazon. I constantly get the message that my details don't match despite having used the card on Amazon to make a straight forward purchase with no issues. I've tried the chat box to speak to Amazon customer services but they appear to be completely clueless. Has anyone else solved this issue and would it be worth going to Amex about it ? At least Amex customer service have a reasonable grasp of the English language.:(

Which Amex card do you have?
You can only them on cards enrolled into the Membership Points program, e.g. the Platinum (£450pa charge), Gold (£140pa charge in second year onwards), Green Card (£60 charge), Amex Rewards Card.
If you have one of these cards, you can enrol it on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hp/shopwithpoints/account/?programId=AMEX-REWARDS-UK&productId=AMEX-REWARDS-UK&0
