Appealing One Parking Solutions Windscreen PCN

Hello,

last night a vehicle of which I am the leaser received a windscreen Parking Charge Notice from One Parking Solutions, the driver had temporarily parked in front of "no parking" sign that listed no details of the parking conditions or operation. Unfortunately I cant add a picture but effectively it is a black street sign with "no parking" text where one may usually read a street name

Having read the FAQs, as the car is leased I wanted to confirm when the driver should appeal the notice of if I as the leaser should contact the lease company directly to inform them not to enter in to a discussion with One Parking Solutions?

The PCN also includes a logo at the bottom for both BPA and IPC, however having read the FAQ i was under the impression these are different organisations with different processes. Can One Parking Solutions be a member of both organisations?

Appreciate any guidance

Yes, do tell the lease Co you are dealing with this. Point out that as long as they name you as the lessor should the scammers send them anything, they are not liable for any charges.

Follow the guide for lease/hire vehicles near the bottom of post 1 of the NEWBIES, and send it off well before the appeal deadline to hook it away from the lease Co

The NEWBIES also tells you about being members of two parking organisations, but only be on the accredited list of one to obtain keeper details. It's the round logo that is the important one.

Get your own pics of the (forbidding) signs and environs for later use, and in the same light conditions if possible.

I agree the best thing is for you to appeal on day 26 as per the NEWBIES thread, standard template (you are the keeper but could add 'hirer' to the wording - DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE DRIVER!).

OPS are in the BPA AOS at the moment, but maybe they are in the process of moving to the IPC as I've never seen them carry an IPC logo before.

As they are in the BPA AOS, appeal using the template and will get a POPLA code, and can win (probably on 'no hirer liability').
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business in the not too distant future.
