Morning cold again here but the car was not frozen so it must be warmer than yesterday. Lame wolf I did not mean to worry you about a smart meter. We use so much so I am thinking of ways to make it cheaper. So I did a wash last night and hung it on a maiden in the kitchen and this morning I put it in the tumble dryer for a short time to finish it off I would normally just put it in the dryer and not think off it
For hot drinks I am going to boil the kettle and put the left over hot water in a flask and use that so if anyone has any good ideas I would really like it

    Morning all,
Cold again but not as bad as yesterday when DH van windscreen had to be scraped.
As I thought yesterday was hectic. The dental appt was surprisingly swift and ok.The filling was in the back of my very back upper tooth so was a bu**er to get to,my jaw is a bit sore through opening my mouth so wide :D A taxi picked me up,stopped to get my meat and I was hope in time for the sm delivery.
I'd just about finished unpacking and putting away when DS2 rang to say he was fetching DGD as she'd been sent home again with an upset tum, so perhaps it was linked to whatever made her face come out in blotches the day before. She snuggled under a blanket as she felt cold, watching programmes and I have to confess I may have nodded off for a few moments sat with her.She perked up later and suggested that there was no need to wait until DGS birthday tomorrow if we happened to have bought her something too ;) I had- it came with the delivery and I hid it upstairs quick before she came.Told her I was going shopping today (true...) & hadnt got anything yet (very untrue :D)
I am meeting a group of old school friends for lunch at a local retail park so will get a few more bits then. A certain large hound is nudging me to go out for her walk.I ended up on the sofa last night, its the 3rd time this week she's got me up.Usually when she does this ,its because her ears are itchy but theylook fine. The night before I looked out of the window and a large scruffy van was going down the road very slowly,we watched back on the cctv but nothing untoward. Not much comes down here at that time so perhaps it disturbed her.
Anyway, must get on - hope you all have a good day,(or a better day) xx

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Its brrrrrr here I have turned the heat up a bit to warm the house, will then turn it down. Have been awake since 3am, ended up getting up and coming through into the sitting room, made tea and sat reading for an hour and then went back to bed.......still no sleep....... think my tablets may have been warring with each other, it happens occasionally if I have to take a full days painkillers.

Drs yesterday, The UTI is ok, but I have a torn rotor cuff in my right arm and tenosynovitis in my left hand and arm. Waiting to hear about an appointment for a BD scan. The Dr did give me some exercises for my back and right arm. I have to get physio for my right arm, the pain in my back is coming from my spine, have to try and walk with the imaginary book on the head, should prove interesting!!

Off to the School for the market after lunch, hope to take a bit more than I did on Saturday!! I filled 4 fabric bowls with Cadbury's Roses and wrapped them in cellophane tied with gold ribbon..... I doubt I will get any sewing done today, so tomorrow and Sunday will be full on days. Want to get the stuff ready for putting on the binding by Wednesday.

Specky, glad you got your coat, I would have been very miffed if I had lost an expensive coat.

Hope TA is ok its a while since she posted.
  • Bozwood I do that if I boil the kettle, left over boiling water goes into a flask, saves me reboiling just for a cuppa (every little helps :))

Yay Speky great news you found your jacket, and nothing ventured, why not nip back and see if you can get her number;) Faint heart never won fair lady and you never know, you were obviously taken with her ;);)

This afternoon I have History club which I always enjoy HM cake coffee and lots of laughs with old friends, we are talking about Blackheath in London where I spent ten years of my early life so it should be very interesting.

Tomorrow morning I shall be on the road early as I have to drive to Hatfield in Hertfordshire to pick up DGS Jack as he wants to come home for the weekend to se his Dad as its my son-in-law Simon's birthday weekend.
DD and I have gone half each for an amazon Alexa gadget for Simon as he really wanted one.

I will make some cheese and onion sausage type rolls for Jack tonight and take them with me so he can have a munch on the way back tomorrow.

November is almost over and its whizzed by so quickly I have done quite a bit of Christmas shopping already and only have about 6 more things to buy and two of them are birthday presents .

Weather looks decidedly damp and foggy outside at the moment so wrap up well today chums.

have a good day whatever you are doing, and hugs to those who are in need of one

    JackieO xx
  • Hi all, it's not a very nice day here weather wise, grey, foggy and raining.
I couldn't get to sleep last night either, by the time I dropped off it was time to get up :(. I will be shattered by tonight, my sleep pattern is up and down like the buses :(.
I am up earlier this morning as DGD is here again so I have my nurses hat on :D. She looks washed out and she's now led on the sofa under a fleece blanket and that's just not her :(. I think we will be watching a few Xmas movies today :j. There is nothing wrong with her appetite though, as she's already demolished a boiled egg and toast soldiers. I had the same, well I thought it would be rude not to ;). Unfortunately I have had to light some candles in the kitchen to get rid of the eggy smell !
This afternoon I have a GP appointment, we will see what happens there. DGD will have to stay in the car with Mr Fix It but I hope I won't be long. She can keep him occupied by playing eye-spy :rotfl:
Tea tonight will be a jacket potato and a bbq pork chop.
Speky I agree with JackieO, just pop by and ask the girl for her number. Have no regrets that you didn't ask. I'm glad you found your coat.
Csarina fingers crossed that you sell more stuff today
Rosyred I hope your mouth is better
Bozwood I suppose batch cooking, then freezing, may help keep the costs down.
RedRuby I hope that everyone stays calm at work. Stay safe.
    AOD your meal sounded lovely.
Thinking of TA, Holly and Poppy.

Well I must go and empty the DW and that's about it for today on the housework front. The house is reasonably tidy anyway.

Take care all and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one.
    nan xx

I need to collect my spiralizers from the sorting office.Apparently they attempted delivery the other day.Strange as I was on the sofa n didn't hear a knock, nor did the hyper alert pooches
I also need to pop to ALDI for a few bits.I hope it's not too packed with toy carrot n parsnip hunters :rotfl:
I'm debating whether to go n see A Star is Born this aft.Have been meaning to go for weeks, but keep putting it off .
SPEKY I hope you manage to contact the girl.Us Northerners admire men with a bit of gumption;)
Huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today :Axx

Morning all. I have done nothing besides geting up late and the mountain of dishes in the kitchen. I very nearly threw them out the back garden with the intention of having a smashing time. I am very angry with the OH at the moment. I feel like I cannot rely on him to take care of me and he feels like I am overreacting. Oh well, it will get sorted or it won't. I'm almost past caring either way.
I'm curretly watching 'Consumed' on Netflix and while our house is nowhere near as bad, it has prompted me to take a look at the stuff that I hold on to and figure out it's about time a large protion of it went somewhere else besides here. A job for after Christmas....and a pop onto the decluttering thread :)
Well done on the return of your coat Sperky, stay single I say :) [j/k] Hope your mind becomes as uncluttered as our house will be SO. Well done for the cooking bonanza AOD, want to make me Chrsitmas dinner? :) you made me laught with the sandwich timings Nelski. Csarina, you're a bit in the wars aren't you? OL, sounds like she's mellowed a bit...and girded loins for dealing with Prodigal.
Happy portentious Friday [ I think I made up a word there....]

We're back from our few days in Bath. Steve has an appointment with the clinical nurse this afternoon so we had to get up and off promptly. We really enjoyed our time there and bought a couple of things at the Christmas market. The highlight was going to an author event with Ben Aaronavitch who writes a series called Rivers of London, sort of Hogwarts meets the Sweeney. He was very funny (the books are funny as well) and we got a signed copy of his latest for Chris for Christmas.

Speky, glad you got your jacket back.

Holly, lovely to hear from you, I'm glad you are being well looked after.

Poppy, I hope you feel better soon.

TA. I hope you are ok.

Please don't worry Bozwood you didn't scare me; I merely quoted your post to illustrate how I'd be if we had a display wagging it's virtual finger at me. We decided a long time ago that Hell will freeze over before we voluntarily have a Smart meter. We both now have lifelong illnesses, and I'm bu88ered if I'm going to add to my stress by worrying how much switching this light or that heater on is costing me, when it's all things we need switched on. And I certainly don't intend to have wet bedlinen all over the bungalow once a week during wet weather because I'm too scared to use the TD. I dry outside whenever possible, and when it's not possible, most stuff goes on A frames over the bath, but the bungalow is just too small to dry bedlinen and bath towels indoors without a boost from the TD.

Speky I'm so pleased you have your jacket back. You could always pop into the hotel with a view to saying Thank You to the girl on reception for alerting housekeeping to look out for it.
