So let's say i have a folder with a Google Docs & a Google Sheets file in.
I write out a piece in Google Docs & i want a word to when clicked open up a specific Google Sheets file (there'll actually be numerous Docs & Sheets files).
Can this be done? If so then how?

It's not something I have ever tried. I have linked data in a cell to cells in another Google sheet, which uses a link to the other sheet. Possibly this link could be used with text set up as a hyperlink in the Google doc, but I've never tried it.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. The answer's in the question really. To link between apps, you use the menu option Insert / Link.
1. Go to the google sheet, copy the URL from the address bar (its web page address).
2. In the Google Doc, highlight the word you want to click, from the menu choose "insert link", paste in the address from step 1.0 -

Though i'm guessing from the way they highlighted my quoted following up with their opening comment - this is probably the reason they replied, since they didn't actually add anything new. They could've just ended with saying "and i'll tell you to do the same as the other guy".0
