Hi all,

I have got a problem with my tv aerial so I need your help. I have got one aerial cable in the front room but I am not really sure what to do. I want to connect the aerial to the front room tv and to the kitchen tv as well without switch the booster on. My wife want to watch the tv in the kitchen while I watch the tv in the front room when we both watch different channels at the same time. And my daughter want to watch the tv in her bedroom so she would have to switch the booster on.

Do you know what I need to do to get it working in a proper way if there is a way I can do it?

The only thing I can think is to use a aerial splitter to connect to the aerial then to the kitchen tv and to the booster. I have tried it but the front room tv and the kitchen tv wont get the signals as my daughter will get the tv signals in her room unless I have to switch the booster off so me and my wife can watch the tv in the kitchen and front room but my daughter wont be able to watch it in her room.

If you know what ways I can use, please let me know.

Thanks in advance

  • the booster needs to go close to the ariel (say in the loft)and should be the type with multiple outputs , leads from those should then be run to the rooms needing tv

    booster/distribution board
  • Thank you for your reply. I understand that a booster would need to go close to the aerial. However, I have heard about labgear 3-way power pass splitter that work the same way as the booster.

Do you know anything about it?

I suggest you do as professionals do , fit a amplifier/distribution board in the loft

something like this would more than do https://cpc.farnell.com/global-communications/f180/amplifier-8way-f-type-tv-fm-distbtn/dp/SE00476

that is a trade link that will supply you , expect more on high street

the one you linked to is a splitter , you stated that your signal was not strong enough to feed 4 tv,s , so it needs to be amplified before splitting

That splitter just divides the signal from the aerial by three so it can feed three TVs. Unfortunately, each TV will only receive a signal one third the strength.

That is why you need to fit a booster (ideally adjustable gain) between the aerial and the splitter.

The "power pass" bit just means that electricity can be passed along the aerial cable through the splitter to power a booster or masthead amplifier.
