"Why do you deserve to win?" Question
Eas

Just recently got back in to comping and this is one I've always skimmed over. I get to this question and I have no idea what to write so I just skip it. Anything generic anyone can suggest to fill in this box?

I hate these with a vengeance, particularly on social media where they are public. I usually skip over them unless it's a prize I'd really like, in which case I put something like "I don't 'deserve' to win any more than anyone else, however I would really 'like' to win" or something bland. 99% of these comps are random draws but as seen in our "selling your soul to the devil" threads, people think they are going to be picked out for having the saddest story!0

I have used "Because I have fewer than the average number of legs"

I usually avoid these competitions unless there is a prize I'd really like to win.
I often put, I'd like to win because...
Instead of I deserve to win.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -

Shame The Last Leg don't do competitions then... Those of us who have more than the average number of legs wouldn't stand a chance....I have used "Because I have fewer than the average number of legs"
I would avoid those sort of questions too - feels like begging. I can sort of see the "nominate a deserving person" variant but even then it's open to fictitious sob stories; would the organisers actually double-check? I would if I was working for the sponsor...I need to think of something new here...0 -
If it's judged - ignore them.
If not, I say something like 'I don't deserve to win any more than the next person - but would like to
' 2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
PS if there are some really beggy ones in the thread on something like FB or twitter, I will add 'Not about to share some sob story to win - we all have them, and it's a bit cringe to share - but would just love to win
' 2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
I'm often tempted to use the classic slogan from the L'Oreal, and write
"Because I'm worth It"

'Cos it would earn me lots of brownie points with the wife....!
is my general comment.0
