Heating Check and Boiler service

Hi Everyone,

we just moved into a new house, and wanted to do the following
1. Check our heating system e.g. are the radiators properly working, optimally tuned, replace some valves etc.

2. Heating programmer (Drayton) seems to be temperamental : works sometime but not other times.. hard to figure out why

3. Get a Nest installed (not critical of course)

Wondering if this is something one person could do and what kind. I can only find agencies that do boiler servicing and not sure if they can check the heating too?

Any local heating and plumbing company will be able to cover the whole job. The big nationals tend to specialise in boiler servicing - in and out in 30 mins !

‘Optionally tuned’: I assume that you mean balanced? This could well prove to be an expensive undertaking as plumbers charge for their time and, whilst balancing radiators isn’t difficult, it is not something that cannot be rushed if it is done properly.

You could do it yourself. There are a lot of online guides.
