Holiday hours/entitlement

If you only work 4hrs Friday, and want Friday off. Then your only having 4hrs off, so should only be paid holiday pay for those 4hrs. Doesn't matter how they work it out, as that's their problem. If you have a Friday off and they pay you 8hrs holiday tell them they over paid you as you only work 4hrs Fridays and pay back the additional hours they paid you.
If you have Monday and Tuesday off, your entitled to full pay as per the 9.25hrs (9.5 with unpaid lunch included) for each day - 18.5hrs holiday pay, as 18.5hrs is total paid hours you work those two days. Add Wednesday 9.25, add Thursday 7.25 and add 4hrs for Friday that's a total of 40hrs paid per week. So you wouldnt need to work additional hours to make up for any hours as theres no hours to make up. The fact they refer to a days holiday as a days holiday in their policy confirms that.
So if you took Monday and Tuesday off and they only paid you for 16hrs (8hrs x 2) then they will have under paid you by 2.5hrs and you'd be entitled to reclaim it.0 -
It seems a confusing way of calculating it, but fine - they are giving you your holiday in average days. It would be simpler and clearer to give your holiday allowance to you in hours, but then people might start taking lots more of the shorter Fridays off and maybe they don't want that. If you take a long day as holiday you need to work back a little time, if you take a short day as holiday you get a few hours extra off.
I believe you could push for your breaks to be a 20 minute break and a 10 minute one or just one 30 minute one, if you wanted. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Thanks for being up the 20min thing. In total we get 2x15 min breaks - 1 paid, 1 unpaid. If that changes anything?
What about the holiday hours, is what they are doing wrong?
You're only entitled to a 20 min break if the working shift is greater than 6 hours.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
