I would recommend Starling over Monzo, it has more features including Post Office banking services.
Monzo wouldn’t make a good main/sole account as you can’t deposit cash directly to the account whilst you can now use the Post Office for Starling Bank. They also seem to be going to diversify and offer more services, they already offer loans and have announced credit cards are coming next year.0 -
The one thing that stops me going for a Starling account is the lack of a desktop app. I'm used to sitting down at my desktop computer sorting out my transactions - for me a mobile app is an adjunct which I use only when I don't have access to my computer. When I reconcile transactions I like to be able to pull up PayPal or other websites to check what a particular transaction was, maybe emails to review order confirmations - I can do all that on a mobile device but the experience is simply not as good. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. There's no such thing as the average person. You have to decide what you want from an account then search for the account and provider that matches those needs.0

I don't know who is worse. You for asking or the replies. What jar of coffee is better. What news channel is better. What supermarket is better? !!!!!!0

If you prefer to do your banking in-branch; search for a branch coverage checker and go with whichever is closest to your home/place of work.
If you prefer to do your banking online; search for images/walkthroughs of the online banking platforms. I personally prefer the Lloyds/Halifax platform myself.
If you prefer to do your banking on the loo via your phone (like me); Starling.0 -
Not convinced it was worth resuscitating a two year old thread for that insightful contribution, but now we're here, since you obviously have internet access, pretty much all banks are effectively in the palm of your hand....adoption said:I don't know what bank is better I always choose the bank that is nearest hahaha.9
