Link Financial

Hi All

My first post and I'm wondering if anyone can help.

I defaulted on a Barclaycard at the end of 2016 and the debt was sold on to Link Financial. I agreed a payment plan with Link and I've not missed a single payment since. I've been working hard over that time to get my finances in order and I've managed to improve my credit rating up to a decent level of 3/5 with Noddle/Call-Credit which enabled me to get mobile phone contracts etc.

I checked my credit report yesterday and link Financial has suddenly shown up on there in the last week showing that I've defaulted with my payments to them every month since the debt was transferred to them, meaning my score is now 1/5 and my plans to move house are up in smoke.

My question is, are they able to just put this record on my account, nearly 2 years after the agreement started with them? Even though it's never shown on there before.

Is that an error on their part?

Also, why if I pay them on time every month, without missing, why is it showing that I'm defaulting with them.

This has messed everything up for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • Contact them and ask - though if the account is in default/arrears then it is being marked correctly.

Ignore the made up scores and ratings - they had no influence on you getting a mobile phone as they're merely made up numbers
  • Yes. - the ongoing default is correct. It will drop off 6 years from the date of the original default.
