Hi,
Do energy companies fix your useage and info when you ask them for annual useage?
Every time I ask them and then input it into comparisons sites my current provider always seem to come out on top?
Coincidence?

I am not sure that I understand your question. To get an accurate comparison, YOU need to enter your annual estimated consumption in kWhs/year for gas and electricity. For example, I use 10000kWhs/Year for gas and 4000kWhs/year for electricity. This provides me with a list of suppliers with the cheapest first (NB: not all PCWs now show all suppliers). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yeah, just use the average.
Or find a bill, work out the kWh for one month, times that by 12 and round it up.
I use slightly less values than above 12500 gas, 3285 electric.0 -
Apologies for the confusion.
Yeah I get the annual consumption each year and my current provider always come out on top, which just seems strange.
Unless I’m getting the best deal possible.0 -

Postcode? If you don’t want to give your actual postcode then give one for, say, a local pub. Tariffs vary with location.
Running your usage against my postcode, I get the following results:
Powershop. £1230 per year
Pure Planet £1237 per year
Toto £1357 per year
I haven’t looked at separate suppliers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hi ask,
Massively confused. Here’s my useage and tariffs ive found its don’t know which to go for.
Current useage
e 4017
G 18068
Unit charge electric
23.49 standing
10.99
Unit charge gas
23.49 standing
2.78
I’ve found two tariffs:
AVRO
£179 saving
Electric
17.85 standing
14.595p
Gas
16.44 standing
15.97
Power shop
£304 saving
Electric
18.186 standing
12.999
Gas
21.956 standing
2.940
Does the £304 saving add up to you guys? I’m trying to save my mum some money. She’s also nearly £400 in credit in her current bill.
Thanks :money:0
