Does anybody know the best cheapest mechanical keyboard to purchase. I have the following options
https://madoffers.co.uk/products/fire-dancing-gk3-hybrid-gaming-keyboard-mechanical-black-7-colour
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-rog-claymore-core-80-rgb-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-cherry-mx-red-uk-layout-kb-02b-as.html
once pretends to be a mechanical and the other one is a fully mechanical keyboard.

Isn't the fact that the second one costs five times as much as the first a relevant consideration?0

I prefer a larger enter key.
£20 Chinese cheapy with unknown switches
or a
£100 ASUS with genuine Cherry MX Red switches, but no numberpad
Thats quite a difference in choices.
Why those two? What do they have in common?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I managed to find a really old dell keyboard and they used to be mechanical.
We all remember the heavy keyboards 20 years ago well they were mechanical

That's a bit extreme. What isn't sun fading can be sorted by removing the keycaps and putting them through the dishwasher.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Get a 30 year old IBM Model M (the quality went down in the 1990s so older is better). Still the best computer keyboard ever.

Its not to remove thee fading, its to remove the nasty stains clearly visible in the pictures.
The yellowing is actually the bromine in the plastic leaching out. You can fix that with some creme peroxide and some sun or for us UK users a UV nail lamp works well.
Done several old computers with the stuff and it works, although it appears to go yellow quicker after treatment. Doesnt take long to repeat the process though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Why are you even considering a half kayboard?
Anyway....
I like these...

I break keyboards regularly and these seem to last as long as 4 £10 keyboards so all good. (Run the the shower quick if you spill beer or food over it like me!).
I'm sure the more expensive ones are indeed better. But having tried many at the low end this is what I would recomend.
Also available without lights for cheaper and again without a keypad if you are weird. (and in US format if you are odd).0
