Parking charges somewhat due to negligence

I parked at a private car park on Saturday morning. I paid the full amount of £3.70, which was for a day pass. As I was almost late for my program and also due to the fact that there was a long queue behind me, I just quickly displayed the ticket on the car and confidently went for my program. To my surprise, I got a parking charge notice of £80 on the car when I returned in the evening. I checked the ticket again, only to realise the ticket machine only issued an hour instead of all day, and the ticketing machine did not return any coins. An hour cost £1 but it printed an amount of £1.70 on the displayed ticket. I appealed to legion group but unsuccessful. If I wanted to cheat, I won’t pay £1.70! Is this worth taking to popla?

Every BPA case is worth trying at POPLA, using the usual POPLA appeal templates shown in the third post of the NEWBIES thread, to try to catch them napping on some aspect or other, or to make them give up as our POPLA appeals are so long!
If it doesn't work you will be ignoring them anyway, except to tell them if you change postal address within 6 years, in case of a secret sneaky CCJ to an old address in a couple of years time, behind your back (which is what this scum industry do to people).
Legion are not litigious but if that changes we'd help you defend (no risk). No-one PAYS Legion!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
