I got a given the above phone from someone for free it is quite a bettered phone crack on screen etc. (and no it’s not stolen, lol) problem is that person does not have the gmail account details.
I have spent all day today on the internet and YouTube to find a way to bypass this but everything I have tried has been unsuccessful.
Could anyone please advice of a way to do this that I may have missed.

Factory reset it and that will delete everything xif you need help let me know xx0

Get the Google account owner to find out their details and unlock it for you. The point of these systems is to make it pointless to steal phones as the 'new owners' won't be able to use them without them being released from the accounts on the phone.0

If it's not stolen then the person who gave it to you will know the details.Ex forum ambassador

Unless the owner wiped out the Google account (factory reset) within Android OS, the device is regarded as the stolen item, Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is activated permanently.

This bug was supposed to be fixed on 1. 2016 or 2. 2016 for Android 6, but as you know, Android Security update was really messy, so you may just want to try to bypass the FRP, following the instruction
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=nOymYg3lswI
Well, if it doesn’t work, technically you need to install pre-parched OS before 1.2016 and perform the above again. (Galaxy S7 edge was released on 2.2016, I don’t think Samsung released the latest patched Android 6 when released.) If you woud manage to install the initial Stock Rom or very early version of Custom Rom , which would remain the bug, then try the above the video instruction.
In my case, I have got a Google Nexus 9 tablet (which is really good!) from eBay, but the previous owner did not delete his account properly, then Factory Reset Protection (FRP) was activated. Fortunately Google let me download the every version of the Android Stock Rom image, I could manage to install a bug contained early Android OS to bypass the Factory Reset Protection (and install LineageOS, of course!)
Well the FRP may be a good idea, but all of the owners need to be informed this very clearly, otherwise the FRP simply creates more unusable fully working eWaste.

The original owner will have logged in with the same credentials they have on their current phone probably, that's how his contacts will have been kept etc.
If not get them to go 'ACCOUNT RECOVERY' and get it sorted.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
