The Quad Lock (iPhone) case (in comparison to Otterbox)?

I'm hoping there's someone reading this who's experienced both, or as a bare minimum experienced the Quad Lock case.
I like my Otterbox case but i was thinking about car windscreen mounts as well as cycle mounts - which put me on to Quad Lock. It'd mean i'd need to give up my Otterbox (Commuter) case though so it depends whether the Quad Lock case is much good.
What's the feel of it, is it a soft rubbery feel, a hard plastic feel? How well does it protect the phone from falling from say pocket height (so a few ft up say)?
I don't know anywhere in town that sells them that i can just go try them out.
