"What Would You do If You Win xxx" Type Competitions

Newbie here.

On reading the forums its obvious that doing comps that need a bit of effort stand a better chance of winning than the just enter your details type.

My question is how do people respond to the type of question that asks what would you do if you won xxx?

Do we tell the truth ...or make up a story about how it would help with some problem or do we give witty responses or surely not...save the world type answers

Any help much appreciated

You always need to read the Ts & Cs of this type of competition, almost all say 'winner chosen at random'.

I once entered a competition in a rush as it was the closing date and wrote a really carp answer to that very question. I won a newly released phone and a year of paid contract.
    Definitely random!

  • I guess if it's a judged competition then you need to try and make it funny or interesting ... I wouldn't say "I want to win this holiday to Thailand because I've always wanted to go there" and definitely not "I want to win this holiday to Thailand because my son has cancer and only has 2 years left, this would be amazing for him" ... need to make it stand out from the rest of the dross, ie "I want to win this holiday to Thailand because I'm desperate to see the Thai Lady Boys and I've been trying to perfect my Ping Pong game, so would love to get some tips from the experts".

Probably best to gear it towards whoever is running the comp, I wouldn't use that response if it was Saga Holidays!
