Pips mental change ... awarded in aug 16

I applied for pip back in July . My award letter dated 25th July 2016 states they can award from 24th August 2016

My mental health effects me going out etc so I believe if they had relooked at my original form I would have been in with a chance . I’ve read that if you applied before 28th November 2016 your basicly out of luck and have to reapply - with no chance of it being back dated . I was 12 weeks out and it seems unfair that I’m not entitled to this . Surely when the courts ordered it was unfair and unjust that applies to anyone that’s applied not anyone after November 2016

Can I write to them and ask them to reconsider ? What are my options ? My award is till 2020

Many thanks in advance

Ok so now I’m confused I’ve just read it’s all claims but the earliest it could be backdated to is 16th November 2016

That claimants don’t have to do anything and will be contacted in due course ??

    Someone help me please

This is correct, DWP are in the process of looking through all claims that maybe affected. There's no need to contact them, they will contact you with a decision but with 1000's of claims it's not going to be done overnight.

Some have already been contacted regarding this but i've yet to hear of anyone that's had their award changed because of it.
